About Me

Adrian Kollnberger - Dog Trainer

I am Adrian Kollnberger B.A.Hons, MGODT, MCFBA and I have been running ABC for Dogs since 2008.

My experience in dog training started in 1998 when I became a Police Dog Handler.

During my career I have trained and worked general patrol dogs and drugs detection dogs.  This gave me the chance to work with a number of different breeds including German Shepherds,Labradors, Belgian Mallinois, Rottweilers and Spaniels.

With my Patrol dogs I competed in the Police Working Dog Trials to a National level winning trophies in a variety of disciplines.

From this experience I developed my own philosophy towards dog training combining an understanding of dog behaviour and psychology with an open minded attitude to the variety of dog training methods that exist.

In order to further develop the knowledge that I had gained with the Police I started a degree course with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour andTraining and Middlesex University. In 2012 I completed this degree acheiving an award of B.A.Hons in Canine Behaviour and Training.

I am a Member of the Guild Of Dog Trainers and a Full member of the Canine and Feline Behavioural Association.I am also a member of The Kennel Club Accredited Instructor Scheme

Since starting ABC For Dogs I have helped numerous dogs and their owners with issues ranging from toilet training to severe aggression on a one-to-one basis or in a class.

My obedience classes are Kennel club listed and we pride ourselves on taking in any dog with any problem and running our classes in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. This ethos also carries over into my agility classes and all other aspects of my dog behaviour and training solutions.

Puppy Training Classes
In my puppy training and socialisation classes I start you and your new dog in the right direction by following the Kennel Club Good Citizen scheme puppy foundation course. Designed for dogs from 9 weeks up to 6 months old I concentrate on structured socialisation, basic dog obedience, fun and games and endeavour to help you with any behaviour problems you have along the way.
Dog Obedience Classes
As I work mainly with family pets, I really want all the dogs I am involved with to be happy, well behaved members of society who can go anywhere with their families. My Tuesday Training classes follow the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme and I pride myself on running the classes in a relaxed and fun atmosphere for both dog and their owners
One to One Training
I recognise that not everyone has the time to attend dog training classes or a class environment may not be suitable for solving the training problems that a dog has.In light of this I can provide one to one training sessions for dogs and their owners at a time and a date to suit them. These sessions can be tailored to meet individual requirements which I will be happy to discuss prior to the training session.
Dog Behaviour and Aggressions Problems
As a qualified dog behaviourist and trainer I combine my training experience with my knowledge of behavior to help owners overcome and understand their dogs issues.
